Early 20th century French Grape Hopper in original paint
A fabulous example from the 1900’s French wine industry.
These grape hoppers were, and in some areas still are , used in collecting grapes from vines in vineyards around France.
They vary in shapes and colours according to regions and types of grapes harvested.
This particular one came from Épernay, north-east of Paris.
It’s beautiful original blue paint and leather back straps provide authenticity and charm, bringing home an air of history of one of the most famous and loved industries in the world.
