19th century English oak bureau bookcase with original glass and key.
An elegant sized 19th century English oak bureau bookcase. The top section comprises of a single adjustable oak shelf behind glazed doors with original glass.
The middle section consists of the writing flap and internal pigeon holes. These include a mini drawer which, judging by the old label still attached, once housed various stationery items.
The single drawer below the writing flap is adorned with original brass furniture which has a lovely twisted rope design and brigs a subtle style to this handsome piece.
The two sections sit on top of an oak box-frame bracketed base with turned legs and plain stretchers.
All three locks ( glazed doors, eriting flap and drawer) are original and work smoothly with the original key.
