A 19th century oak bonnetiere from Normandy, France. The name refers to a single door armoire used to store hats and later linens.
This very decorative piece has a besutifully carved relief on the door of open-cup flowers and geometric check. The original lock and key is present and in full working order. There are five removable solid oak shelves inside. This provides a wealth of flexible storage. The piece is beautifully constructed and hand pegged in a true artisan style.
The cornice and shelves can be removed easily for transport purposes.
